Why This Car?
When searching for cars to preserve and restore, condition will always come before specification or rarity.
This MX-5 immediately stood out. It had clearly been cared for throughout its life and retained much of the originality that makes these cars so appealing today. While it isn't perfect and that's part of its story. It provides an excellent foundation for sympathetic restoration and careful preservation, with some tasteful modifications along the way.
Rather than chasing showroom perfection, our goal is to respect the character of the car while ensuring it can continue to be enjoyed for many years to come.
Splash Green
Mazda offered several memorable colours during the NB generation, but few are as distinctive as Splash Green Metallic.
Depending on the light, it shifts between vibrant turquoise and deep metallic blue, giving the car an entirely different personality throughout the day. During golden hour the paint almost glows, while under overcast skies it takes on a richer, more subdued tone.
It's a colour that perfectly complements the MX-5's timeless design and, unsurprisingly, became the inspiration behind the name Splash Green Motors.
The Beginning of a Journey
Like every project we undertake, this MX-5 won't simply receive a quick clean before being forgotten.
